Cast Partial and Flexible Dentures

When there are multiple missing teeth especially the terminal molars whereby a fixed bridge is not possible and for reasons a dental implant cannot be placed in these conditions removable partial dentures are indicated. They come in 2 varieties:

Cast partial dentures are the preferred type of removable partial dentures because they are fabricated by a combination of a metallic framework and acrylic teeth. The advantage of this denture is that it is extremely light due to the framework in metal and rests on the teeth giving good stability.

Flexible Acrylic dentures
Flexible dentures take support from the underlying bone and mucosa and the flexibility of the denture helps it to retain in the mouth. It is much bulkier than cast partial dentures .
